It seems like forever since I've posted. I wanted to post about the adventures Sofie and I had over the weekend, but I feel I need to update everyone on Debra's condition. I'll post some happy post a little later.
Debra is not doing well at all. Pain seems to be controlling her life right now...so much so, they've just started her on oral Morphine. I worry that the end is much closer than any of us ever anticipated.
Please hold our little family unit in your thoughts and prayers as we help guide Debra peacefully to the next phase of her journey.

So sorry to hear this news. Your sweet little family unit is definitely in our thoughts. Perhaps you are right and the end is nearer than anticipated, but I can also say that I've had two people very close to me die from cancer, who were both young and otherwise healthy, like Debra, and there were lots of scares where we thought it was "it," only to be followed by periods of relative recovery w/good days and less pain, etc., even after everything had seemed hopeless. I hope this is the case for you all and that Debra bounces back so that you all, especially Sofie, can have more quality time with her. Please let us know if we can do anything to help. Take care.
